Hi I did order the Ultraviolet Sterilisers in the end. I have now received it and a bit baffled as to how I set it up? Now I have a spare fluvel 4+ filter floating around so do I connect some tubing to the out flow of that to one of the nozzles on the UV and then connect another piece of tubing on the other nozzle of the UV and then place the end of that tube back into the tank?

Hi,
Yes, that would work.

The idea with a UV system, generally speaking, is to have
the UV light on the output side of a functioning filter.

To run it on the beginning, or in the middle of the
filtration process, or seprately, will allow "gunk" to
build up within the casing between the light and the
the water. That buildup will naturally occur even in
correctly installed systems, but will be really bad,
really fast, in the first circumstances.

Back flushing will remove most of the problems, or
if it is possible (it is with the more expensive models)
take the sleeve apart, clean it, and reassemble.

You don't want to get your hands on the quartz tube.
The body oils will concentrate light/heat at those points
and that will soften & distort the tube, shortening the
life of the bulb.
