Hey all, i love jebos (all in one units), i have had one now for past year and a half, however is only a 50-60 litre unit and wishing to upgrade. The next model i want to get is about 200 litres, however the filter thats built into it is a powerhead which draws the water up over its overhead trickle system with filterwool and noodles. What I was thinking was to tie this to an undergravel uplift tube and plate instead and add a canister filter.
My issue is, will the cannister filtration contradict or go against that of the undergravel? Is it wise or really beneficial to be running both an undergravel and a cannister?

I know this will draw some reactions. I have run UG for many years with out any problems. My 5ft now has a UG with two risers each having its own Rena pump. I also have a large Eheim Pro11.

As they say the proof is in the pudding. My fish are extremly healthy, my plants are healthy, touch wood no basic problems at all.

I may be old but I am always willing to learn also I am never afraid to try some thing different.

What works for me might not work for you, It is just a matter of trial and error and keep a very good eye on what you are doing.

Best of luck

Keith

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
