I'm probably going to get a new lighting fixture for my tank in April, and I was wondering if this would be a good one for growing plants. Also, would I be able to keep the Java Moss and Anubias I have in there?

Thanks for the help. I couldn't decide if that was high enough lighting or not.

bodangit,
That light is designed for saltwater not freshwater planted. You want a light that comes with 6700k to 9325k bulbs.

Those plants you mentioned will grow under very low light so if you get a fixture with 2wpg it would be more than enough.

I have Satalite fixtures on two of my tanks, and they work quite well and are easy to get bulbs for when you need to replace them (which you should, as the ones that come with the fixture are half-actinic, which you really don't need). Java moss and anubias will grow in low light or high light, so you sould be fine with those. The LED moonlight is quite bright in a totally dark room and allows you to see quite a bit when your eyes adjust.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...
