When I bought my aquarium the hood didn't have any lights in it (I got ripped off Nevermind the fact that I knew it didn't have lights before I bought it). Anyway, there was a piece of paper that told what size light bulbs to get.

Said piece of paper has suddenly come up missing. Is there any way to tell what kind will fit in it? Will just measuring it work to see how long it needs to be? It's for a 50 gallon.

Contact the place you bought it from and complain like H**** and play the dumb helpless female all alone and dont know what to do. Ask for the top person in the company.

Good luck

Keith

if you are not wanting to play dumb, then yes, measure the light and buy the closest tube to that size, it should be that simple, and if it does not fit than take it back and get another. i would suggest buying from a hardware store like home depot because lfs mark up the prices on the bulbs. look for a daylight or a buld rated a about 6500k.

a 50 gallon should take 36" bulbs unless your hood is one of those cheapies that take 30". You can just measure and be able to tell.
