When I opened the box everything was spanking brand new except the filter tank has some scuffing and scratches on the inside and the front outside. I know for safety's sake I need to clean and disinfect the filter tank. But since everything was shipped within the tank, do you think I need to disinfect all the parts and go new for the sponge as well? ![]() ![]() P.S. The carbon and biocubes where in original producers package wrap. TTFN --->Ta-Ta-For-Now Kelly ;o} |

I'd just give it a soak in some vinegar then a good rinse. ^_^ ![]() |

Then I'll move the old (70) one down to the 40tall. ![]() TTFN --->Ta-Ta-For-Now Kelly ;o} |

I would have suggested boiling water, but I'm sure that'd crack plastic and melt sponge. Seem to remember reading here that vinegar was used in the "old" days to adjust ph. IMO it'll rinse out better and easier than bleach. ^_^ ![]() |
