You will need to tear the filter down so that you can see the impeller and its compartment. The impellers make noise when there is a snail, or piece of gravel or charcoal in it. A piece of floss will also cause it. Air trapped in the impeller chamber will cause it, and the last thing is wear. A worn bushing will also cause it. Tear it apart, clean it, and be sure there is nothing else in the chamber. The last thing is to replace the impeller and bushings. They do suffer some wear after a while which can cause some wobbling and thus the noise. Also if one of the impellers gets off balance it can cause vibrations. I would just replace it and you should be fine. Jim |
