Hey Guys,

Would like to know your opinion on what should l do. I have a 200lt tank that l’m starting to setup and I’m at the stage to buy a heater.

Now should l go a buy 2x 200w or 2x 150w heaters Just in case one fails or should l be game and just buy a 200w heater?

The heater I’m planning to buy is the Hagen Tronic.

Cheers

Where possible buy two heaters and place them at opposite ends and as close to the inlet and outlet of your filter.

I personally would prefer the 2x200 rather than the 2x150

The 150 would be working at its maxium and if they was a fault when you were away (and this is when it usually happens) I think you could have some problems. If possible buy a third one and keep it as a spare. This will save a mad rush to get one if and when it fails.

Just be careful when adjusting temperature, as your tank only really needs 260 watts of heating power. putting 400 on it will cause the temp to rise faster when making a change. Other than that, keith is 100% correct.

Buy 3 Heaters, 2 for the Tank & a spare one, just in case.
