The "Rule of Thumb" is 4 times the capacity of the system. I like to have my turnover rates nearer to 7x. A 100gph on a 30 gallon tank, especially full of dirty cichlids isn't all that great if you ask me... I'd bump it up a bit for the health of the fish. |
