Hi,
I have never used a python before to do a water change, just the old way, however after you have taken the water out of the tank, & are replacing the water in the tank, does it come directly from the cold water tap? and if so what about the temperature of the water??

Hi,
Most of us that use a python, have it connected to a
sink that has a single nozzle and two valves (H & C).

Before I use mine, I connect the hose and make sure
the valve is open so the water runs into the sink.

Then I adjust the temperature so that it matches the
tank, and then, I syphon off the water and clean the
gravel at the same time. When I have drained the desired
amount of water (I have marked the tank in the back
with a felt tip pen with a line for each gallon from
the top down) I shut the valve off on the hose and
return to the sink to recheck the temp, and then back
to the tank, open the valve, and refill it.

Hope this helped.
Frank

The water will be replaced in your tank at whatever temperature you have it coming out of the faucet at. I'm certain lots of people refill their tanks with the python with absolutely no problem, but I've always tried to refrain from using mine to refill directly from the faucet and simply used an 18 gallon rubbermaid tub dechlorinated the water and heated it to as close to exact temperature of the tank as I can get it.

The Python has been great, for the most part The syphoning part of it isn't working to great for me. But I'm sure it's because of my water pressure.

Thanks, guys, but I would prbably have a similar problem as 'bala shark' as i have bad water pressure, and anyway my tanks are in my shed out the back, and i depend on a singular cold tap out back, as I have 4 tanks, and it would be impractical to slop water from inside the house.
