	Quarantine Tank

bettachris Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3875 Kudos: 4173 Votes: 452 Registered: 13-Jun-2004	a 10-20 long is best, with a heater and a bare tank with a HOB or/and internal filter. a few potted plants like hairgrass is best, but no need to stock it fully with gravel, rocks, and alot of plants. etc.... nothing fancy.

illustrae Fish Addict Posts: 820 Kudos: 876 Registered: 04-May-2005	I started with a 10 gallon tank and got an Aquaclear filter for it and a small heater. I tried the bare-bones method using just a few small broken flowerpots as cover for the fish, but the reflection off of the glass bottom freaked all of my fish out and caused a lot of stress. I also wound up with tons of algae and it was a mess. So now I use just a very thin layer of gravel on the bottom, and it's where I put the trimmings from my planted tank either in pots or tied down to a few chunks of wood and rocks. It tends to stay a clean and very easy to maintain tank, and it only cost me $40 to set up. Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...
