What, in your oppinion, is the quietest type of filter? I've heard that internal power filters are. Thanks.

[font color="#000080"]I think Rio filters are pretty quite for internal.
I'm running a Rio 200 in my 15G, can't hear any noise at all.

Whisper filters... I'm trying to figure out exactly how they make it so that the water just slips quietly into the tank... also, some types of internal filters... I have a ProAquatics one that is very quiet.

I have the Eheim see thread. It is so quiet I have to place my hand on it so see if it is working. It is the perfect quiet filter.

of all the filters I use Aquaclears are the quietest...providing the water level stays full. if the water level lowers from evaporation you can easily hear the water flowing into the tank.

I have two canister filters you have to put your ear up to. You can put your hand on them and still not be sure sometimes. Rena Filstar xp3 & via aqua 750.

I have a Whisper 10 power filter and it is very quiet. I also have a Penguin 125 power filter, and as long as the water level is maintained, there isn't much sound coming from that filter either.
