Slate And Terracotta? | |
CucumberSlices Banned Posts: 63 Registered: 11-Jul-2007 | now i know there are many diffrent types of breeding caves out there: slate, terracotta, coconut, etc... what about mixing two diffrent commonly used materials, like terracotta and slate? I know there is a drastic diffrence between the two not only in color but in thickness, and weight. So thats where the question comes into play, can two or even three diffrent materials be used in makeing a breeding cave for fish? I dont see why not, but there might be some reason as to why you never see it being done. |

I would scrub them well then give them a good long boil the scrub them again giving then a good final rince under a tap. All this should make them clean to use. I am refering to the slate and the terracotta Never using coconut shells I have no idea of how you should prepare them. It would be one interesting look. Terracotta and slate, theres just a little color diffrence there. Lol, well i might have to try it, I'v made terracotta caves on the account that there cheap and easy to make. I think once i try a couple slate caves, i'll try and a mixed cave. see what it comes out like. Thatnk you for the post! |

Dont go over board with the colour otherwise it will distract from the general aquscape and the first thing that looks at you is a mix of colours not a general flow of tank.
