I plan to buy one of these in the near future and am looking for recommendations. I would like one that tests in microsiemens and that costs between $40 and $80 U.S. I am not worried about calibration solutions, if I need them, I need them. Does anyone have good brand or website recommendations? I was looking at this one. It seems to fit my needs, but I want to make sure I get a somewhat decent quality unit for the price. All help is appreciated.

Hi,
What about this meter:
http://www.aquariumwaterfilters.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&root=17&category_id=19&option=com_phpshop&Itemid=1

They all are initially calibrated at the factory, and
then all can be recalibrated in the field using a standard
solution. In this case it takes a small screwdriver and
the standard solution.

Most are designed to be "tossed" into the technicians'
tool box and are rugged. "We" who use them at home on
our tanks, in a non commercial manner, tend to be more
"caring" and keep them clean and uncontaminated. I doubt
that we would have to recalibrate our equipment as often
as the commercial techs. Also, since we are not dealing
with EPA water standards for public consumption, I don't
think we have to be all that accurate. "We" tend to
look for rough values, that we can check to see if values
are trending up or down. We don't need to know if the
values are x.xxxxxx, etc.

Thanks for the help, but I'm going to end up holding off for now. Something else came up that I'm having to spend money on.
