Any suggestions for me? A while back I had to replace my old filter for my 35 gallon tank. Anticipating that I was (am) going to upgrade to a 75 gallon in the near future, I bought a Penquin 350. Its working great, but I have one major complaint....its moving so much water that there's a pretty good amount of turbulance...right in the center of my tank. While it doesn't seem to be bothering the fish much, they do tend to swim more at either end of the tank so I'm loosing out on that nice visual of fish swimming by ...and it makes my water look somewhat cloudy from the bubbles. There is no flow adjustment valve on the thing. Is there any way to "pad" the water pouring back into the tank so its causes a little less turbulance???

Questor,

I have two suggestions:
1. Raise your water level so that you will have a minimum amount of distance from the spillway of the filter to the surface of the water. It will reduce the amount of cavitation that creates the bubbles.
2. Place a piece of hardscape in the aquarium just below the discharge of your filter. The hardscape, rock or driftwood, should rise to within a few inches of the surface. The hardscape will distribute the water discharge.

or there is a trick online some where that you cut up a 2liter bottle and tape it to the lid and it helps redirect the water aronud.

i myself float some plants to help disrupt the flow
