The longer water is exposed to the sterilizer light then the greater its effectiveness against algae spores and bacteria. Optimal flowrate is 50 to 100 gallons per hour or 190 to 380 liters per hour. A flowrate of 200 lph sounds good for the 5W fixture if it has a "twist" flow that extends the water travel path around the bulb.
