UV lighting??? | |
T/A Mega Fish Posts: 942 Kudos: 1796 Registered: 20-Feb-2004 | I was wondering if anyone has used reptile-style UV lights for their fish? Since keeping fish outdoors in natural sunlight usually results in brighter colored fish, UV light might be the reason. Or has there been research on this already? |

UV lighting so close to a fish can actually burn them. To counteract this, it's recommended that a piece of tempered glass be placed between a light source with a high UV content and the fish to prevent this. A common source of UV that's bad for fish are blacklight bulbs. |

I believe the reason was to do with burning the fish.
