If no live plants then it's more of a personal choice as to which allows for the best illumination of your tanks occupants. Jim |

Lamp intensity is determined by its watts and its wave length is the color spectrum that the tube emits. If you have a planted tank, your plants will enjoy lamps with a wavelength of 5500K to 6500K. If you have a fish only aquarium the wavelength will not matter as far as fish health. However, the different wavelengths will affect the color that you see in your fish! If your LFS has a light display, Hagen has an excellent brochure that shows you the difference in different bulbs and their impact on how an aquarium looks. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

The ad has a picture of Chuck Rambo of the ACA and shows how a fish would appear under 5 different spectrums of light. Good luck! __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |
