freakof87 Hobbyist Posts: 52 Kudos: 34 Votes: 0 Registered: 02-Aug-2003 | Their is Eheim, Fluval, Aqua One, Tunze etc... Which in your opinion and exprence is the better? Is it true that you get what you pay for? (eg Eheim as a quality filter) Case example: Aqua one economy CF1200 can filter 1200 L/ph costs approx $205aust were's an Eheim wet/dry cannester filter (range 2229) can filter aquariums as big as 600L cost approx $780Aust. I have one of each, and in comparison they are both wonderful filters, but the eheim was a ]:| to start and trust me I threatened to kill it more than my share of times...go with the fluval, clear and easy directions for use, and very easy setup and startup... heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." They have the best prices that I have found in Australia and I have had no problem with their supplying. Well a bit of a delay on supplying an out of stock item, but that happens on occasions. They have the CF1200 and CF1500 both for under $100 as a June special - they even have the Fluval 404 for $219 - not much more than your current price on the lesser filter. Then again you could get two CF1500s and probably end up with better filtration and a lower cost. Also if you are after anything else, I have found them considerably cheaper on most items. IMO they are the best around. http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/s8xi5heh/my_photos http://www.geocities.com/s8xi5heh/classic_blue.html http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buzaqq/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/corydoras/ Member of the Malta Aquarist Society - 1970. http://www.maltaaquarist.com |

I have an Eheim Ecco on my 46gallon and it's super quiet and has never given me any problems. By the way you can't compared flow rates between Fluvals and Eheims, because the Eheims work on a higher biological filteration capacity than the Fluvals so you don't need the flow to be high. I look it better because when the flow rate is so high there is too much water movement. My Scapes |

steven keyes Hobbyist Posts: 62 Kudos: 54 Votes: 1 Registered: 05-Oct-2004 | you must have a brand new model because the eheims ive seen dont have any more biological filltration than the fluvals alot of my friends have eheims and they dont work any better than the fluvals and the one i bought was way worse. |
