Where and what did you hear about it? Or did it even happen to you? Somehow, I was under the impression that All-Glass is taking great pride in their products, up to the point of replacements with little to no hassle. Thanks for your reply, Ingo |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | I got the aquarium fundamentals stand and one of the guys that does maintenance for my mom's apartments helped me reinforce it some with me I also added an oak top and reinforced the supports on my 55g all-glass stand because I'm hoping to do a saltwater tank with lots of live rock when I finish the 90g and get a bit more money set aside. I just don't think all-glass stands look that sturdy and the guy at the lfs that does saltwater agreed with me. He even told me to go buy or build a different stand instead of buying the all-glass ones they sell. Last edited by sham at 02-Aug-2005 19:41 |

Sharpix Enthusiast Posts: 241 Kudos: 123 Votes: 0 Registered: 01-Mar-2003 | SHAM, LOOK AT THIS: 55g tank, but the stand is made for a 90g (4'x 1.6' and 2' tall that I'll build later) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/Sharpix/AquaStand/AquariumStand1.jpg It has polyester enamel (it handles better water than the regular enamel) and its built over a me http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/Sharpix/AquaStand/AquariumStand2.jpg I just throw the money, it was not expensive but im in Mexico. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v502/Sharpix/AquaStand/AquariumStand3.jpg A photo of the inside tube fr The me I wanted it to be done as nice as possible planning to replace the 55g for a 90g. |

monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | i would. but my problem is i'm a 6'3 guy whos packing over 350pds and well bean bags dont work lol but i am looking into replaceing the couch with a lazy boy to make room. altho, i could just get rid of my bed and replace the couch with a pull out.... hhmmm lol that would free up a whole room for alot more tanks.... sick isnt it? Using mdf & a router (sp?) you can make it look quite nice. varnish it up & then put it in place around the fr |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | I went through the phone book and asked people and I can promise I've seen every store in the area. The cheapest 90g stand I found was $300. There are some really expensive ones out there but that's not what I'm looking for. I want the cheapest stand that will not break and I don't have to build myself so I decided to look online. I have to get all my aquarium supplies online because the local stores are 4 times more expensive. There's 1 at bigals for $132 shipping included [link=http://bigalsonline.com/catalog/product.xm |

Bob Wesolowski Mega Fish Posts: 1379 Kudos: 1462 Registered: 14-Oct-2004 | Sham, Talk to your local cabinet maker and have him build one to your specifications. That way, you get the quality that you want at the price that you want. Well, if you don't like the price, you can always go back online... Note that most cabinetmakers will overbuild the stand beacause of the water weight forgetting that the weight is displaced over the entire fr __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | The same all glass stands for $380 at petland are online for $130-$150 but I didn't like those at all and it won't tell me shipping cost. If only people would fill out reviews online for stands this would be much easier. |

sham Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 3369 Kudos: 2782 Votes: 98 Registered: 21-Apr-2004 | Locally stands I find online for $100 are going for $200-$300. Just like a fluval 304 is up around $200. Even with shipping stuff doesn't come out near the price of buying it locally and I have a 10% off card for the nearest store. The only reason I don't get an aquarium online is they have to ship it freight and fragile so I'm looking at $500-$2000 freight cost. $250 is the cheapest 90g aquarium that is still a good enough glass quality. |
