Alot of people seem to like the 404, so I assume the 304 is just as good (ecept it is for smaller tanks)

I've heard numerous bad things about fluval canister filters, and I personally would not recommend them. To each their own though.

I would consider Rena Filstar and Eheim canister filters.

I am for Eheim 100%
I have a 320 Lt and have the Eheim Pro 2026

Yes it does cost more $$$ but it is fully made in Germany and has the quality that goes with it.

Since I have been with FP I dont think I have ever seen a bad report on an Eheim that is more than I can say for some other brands

Hi there,
I have a Fluval 304 and a Ehiem 2213 and I much prefer the Eheim. It is easier to clean and, more importantly, easier to restart (I cant remember how many times I have treatened to throw the Fluval out the window).
I had an older Eheim that never missed a beat in over 20 years. The only reason I replaced it was I dropped it and cracked the head unit and it started leaking. So, although it may cost more, I would highly recommend the Ehiem.

Well thats my 2 cents worth.

Ehiems or Rena Filstar XP

Can't go wrong with either of them...stay away from Fluvals, haven't heard anything good about them

I have a 304 in a 55g. They are great filters but they have their share of problems, cracking issues and sometimes they are a nightmare to restart. I have not tried eheim's but anyway, get an Eheim Pro II and invest your money in fish health, i mean in a canister.

I agree, EHEIM is the best way to go when using canister filtration.
