I was window shopping on ebay and saw several pieces of driftwood that I liked. But they were cypress. One seller claimed that cypress wood was beneficial for freshwater fish. *took this with a grain of salt*

Am I getting cypress mixed up with cedar?

I have worked with Cypress and have seen many grow but never in a swamp or any water logged areas certainly not in our area of Aust anyway.

It is extremly hard and very close grained, it also has a very unusual smell.

As far as DW I have no idea.
