	do i need glass hood for twin tube lights?

Are you refering to a piece of glass on top of the tank and sitting the light unit on that? If so this is all I have ever done. My twin light unit is now 25+ yld and still in perfect safe working order It was on a marine tank for many years first. The glass stops any moisture getting to the electrical componants in the unit. sly Big Fish Posts: 377 Kudos: 251 Votes: 0 Registered: 22-Jun-2004	Well, depending on the size of your hood, it may fit but its unlikely because they are meant to be use inconjunction with a glass cover. I got a glass cover and a dual bulb light strip last week The glass cover was ~$30 and the twin tube strip was about ~$50 (online), which is much chaeper than retail. You won't find a twin tube strip lower than $80 at retails! :%)

puddle cat Hobbyist Posts: 84 Kudos: 78 Votes: 446 Registered: 25-Apr-2004	Mine doesn't fit as the light strip is about an inch wider and where the cut out is for the filter the light hangs over. That leaves me with bare lights over water the length of the cut out. Bummer huh?
