filter cartridges | |
nr22173 Small Fry Posts: 14 Kudos: 14 Votes: 0 Registered: 02-Jan-2005 | Got into the hobby six months ago and I'm already up to my 3rd tank all with HOB bio wheel type filters. The cost for all the filter cartridges is starting to get high and I've been wondering if their are any websights out there that show you how to make DIY filter cartridges. I know they just have cardon and the foam material and I see the carbon being sold in bottles buthave not seen the foam being sold. |

nr22173 Small Fry Posts: 14 Kudos: 14 Votes: 0 Registered: 02-Jan-2005 | Well one is an eclipse system 12 I just set up haven't changed the filter yet and the others I brought like 3 filters for about $10 if I remember correctly. On my penguin I brought 12 filters for about $15 on ebay but they are replacement filters not original. They seem to be made at home but so far they work pretty well. |
