Cannot see an indicator light next to "ON" Nor does the word 'ON' light up once the heater is plugged in Tank temp 24celcius Heater set to 27C Technically heater should kick in to heat the water. Unlike my other heater this one does not feel warm to the touch? Does anyone have this brand? Does yours have an indicator light? Or does the word 'ON' light up on yours? ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |

In the body of the heater you may see a small light that comes on when the heater turns on rather than something up near the head of the heater. While I can't say for sure, I thought that every heater had a small indicator light that came on when the heater was actually heating the water. By way of review, turn the heater down all the way, mount it in the tank, and give it a half hour so the thermostat inside the heater reaches the current tank temperature. Place a floating thermometer in the tank and give it time to reach the current tank temperature as well. Then turn up the heater till the indicator just lights. Raise the temperature of the tank in steps till you reach the desired tank temperature. Frank -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |

Yeah, me too. Why I wanted to ask on site before looking like a goof when trying to exchange it. turn the heater down all the way, mount it in the tank, and give it a half hour so the thermostat inside the heater reaches the current tank temperature. Place a floating thermometer in the tank and give it time to reach the current tank temperature as well. Then turn up the heater till the indicator just lights. I switched it all the way down and then up by degrees to see when it would light up but nuttin'. I took note of the temp before switching on. No light on the tube combimed with the water temp staying a static 24C tells me the heater wasn't working. I'm not the most technically adept but a heater is pretty straight fwd. I have covered all ba ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |
