Is 2.75 WPG enough for glossostigma elantinoides to grow horizontally?

cause i can get 2 x 55 watt PC lights that makes it 2.75 wpg,
or i'd need to get a 2 x 96 watt which is 192 watts = 4.8 wpg

tank size: 36 x 15 x 17

Hi,
In a 40 gallon tank, probably not.

Check out this site:
http://paul.aaquaria.com/ProfilesHome2/plantprofiles/gloss/glosso.htm

Note that under lighting requirements the remarks
are "Bright, Very Bright." That should mean 3+
watts/gallon to start. I'm sure that some of our
readers are propagating the plant with less than
3 watts, but probably in shallow tanks where the
light would be stronger and less diffuse than in
a 40 gallon tank.
