tank dividers... | |
houston Fish Guru You want what when? Posts: 2623 Kudos: 2462 Votes: 337 Registered: 29-Mar-2003 | OK it's all Leslie's fault! There I said it, so this part of my addiction is not my fault As I mentioned in Advanced Betta Care, I found 2 bettas last night that I simply fell in love with Now I'm putting together divider to fit in a 10 gallon. I'm using the plastic mesh used in crafts, and am dividing it up. So should I divide the tank into 2, 3, or 4 sections...I'm making it long wise not into squarish sections... Below is a sort of diagram of what i'm doing looking from the top. So which way? I'm thinking 2 or 3...that would be 5 or 3 1/3 gallons per betta...better than what they were in...heidi "I've got a great ambition to die of exhaustion rather than boredom." Thomas Carlyle |

You could do 4 sections, but I think the dividers might make it unsightly. I would use mesh that is about a 1/4 square. if you use too fine a mesh then the debris would eventually clog the mesh and ruin the filtration. Speaking of which, I would put the intake for the HOB on one end and then mount the filter at the other connecting the two with some thin walled aquarium tubing.
