The first question you already anwsered with what size tanks and how many. The seconc thing is how much room do you have. Have fun with it and post some pics. I have been making my own stands out of wood. It is nice be cause you make them how you want them. Good luck!! 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |

Have one or two electrical outlets in the back that you can use to gang plugs and that can be conveniently turned off. __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |

In my stands that I build for tanks 55 and up I incorporate a book shelf at one end and a cabinet in the other. The bookshelf comes in handy for nicknacks, books, whatever, and the cabinet is for the pumps and filters. Inside the cabinet I will also hide all my wiring for the tank. Lights have there own plug recepticle with an on off switch and another recepticle for the pumps and filters with its own on off switch. Inside the cabinet portion I also hard wire an appliance style bulb which greatly eases working on filters. Another thing to consider is a dump rail. Every stand now gets a dump rail installed, this is nothing more than a decorative strip around the 3 facing sides of the stand top. This hides the ba |

I want it to house two 4' tanks. I am probably going to be doing it out of wood because I am not great at welding. Plus I have some left over from my last project. 19G Container Pond [IMG]http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y118/Wingsdlc/Ric |
