Sick lil guppy | |
Shizzy Fingerling Posts: 28 Kudos: 25 Votes: 0 Registered: 24-Oct-2005 | I have a small tank, bout 8 gallons I think. I have 4 guppies and one of the males has not been looking too good latley. He has a loss of appetite and his rear fin is diminishing. The temperature of the tank is kept at 79 degrees. I do fairly regular water changes so i dont think that ammonia is the problem. I dont have test kits so I cant tell you any specific water parameters. Is there anything I can do? What is the life expectancy of a guppy? Any help would be good, thanks. -Ryan |

Also take a tap water samply for testing. How old is the Guppy as it could be old age. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. Guppies live for up tp 5 years if cared for properly, and i'm sure yours has been. -NewBreeder16 _______________________________________________ You can call me Newb too, since I'm not nere new any more. |

Small tanks can run into trouble very quickly. Ammonia is probably not the problem but rather nitrAte. Take a sample of water to a lfs and ask for full tests to be done, with results given to you in numbers. I am almost positive it is due to water issues. Post back results when you get them. Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |
