The description of rating is a little out of date, at present points can not be given to members by members.
Kudos points award the first 5 people to reply to a post. Its meant to encourage fast responses. However, it does not mean you can reply with "yes" "no" "maybe" responses as these will be deleted. Kudos points are also awarded to people who start a thread.
Aquarank is this place (<-----click) by following through you vote for FP. Points tally for a week and you can vote one time daily.

What are rating points?
The aim of the rating points system is to reward informative responses. The originator of a thread is given a certain number of rating points that can be distributed between the members replying to the thread. Combined with the quiz stars, rating points accumulated can give an accurate portrayal of the knowledge of a particular member.

The "number of posts" is obvious, this is the "Kudos."
AquaRank, is the number of times one "votes" for their
favorite fish site. It's supposed to be once a week as
I understand it, and therefore she has voted that many
times (for this site).

Babel has done an outstanding job in relating information
to folks who ask, and has earned the respect of us all.
With over 4,000 posts she sure is prolific in her writing!
Many of us with two years, have only half or less posts.
