When you have Glaucoma, this can happen.

I would go to an eye doctor right away.

Those flashes can indicate all sorts of problems, none good, and the "floaters" can indicate bleeding within the eye.

Well, looks like I'll sleep easy tonight!

Hi,
Both of you need to see an Ophthalmologist, not an
Optometrist. The Optometrist is a doctor that handles
the physics of the eye in relation to clarity of sight.
They can look into your eye and see some problems, but
if anything is found, they will probably refer you to
an Opthalmologist, who is a doctor of the eye, and is
specialized in treating diseases of the eye and surgery.

Those flashes can indicate all sorts of problems, none
good, and the "floaters" can indicate bleeding within
the eye.

Frank

Well these lights aren't really in my peripheral vision... They are more at the top.

It's kind of like white fireflies are flying around above me, but then they vanish when I actually move my head to look up at them. I usually only see one at a time, and sometime they are faint and other times they are really bright.

I actually have noticed that i have a weird problem aswell.

When i focus on something (eg, the sky, or the ceiling) i see little Wiggly lines in the corner of my eyes. If i try and look directly at the lines they always move away.

I don't know if this is normal or what But i'm use to it now and it doesn't affect my sight. So it doesn't really bother me.

Migraines aren't always painful. I get them once in a while and just feel fuzzy headed and get those sparkley things in my peripheral vision.

have you ever had a migraine?

Nope, although during, ummm, "that time" of the month, I do get extremely bad cramps and nausea (endometriosis I think) No headaches though...

Keith, I'm actually a bit nearsighted, and my mom was thinking about scheduling an appointment with an optometrist about that to see if it's bad enough that I need *gasp* glasses.

Maybe I'll ask then.

I have had similar happenings. Depending on how and when they happen. I very strongly suggest you contact an eye specialist very quickly.

Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
