Mez Ultimate Fish Guru Asian Hardfeather Enthusiast Posts: 3300 Votes: 162 Registered: 23-Feb-2001 | Well, im going to save up for an SLR camera. My friend at work let me have a play with his, and this is what i came up with. Please do not steal these images - if i see them appearing online on different websites, i know where they have come from because i have only posted this here Not that i think many people in FP would do that. So here we go, only a few, but fairly impressive i reckon. Mimic tang with his lips up about to graze some algae! Hopefully they resize themselves. James |

I really love the orange-red fish with the single stripe. Is that a cichild? TTFN --->Ta-Ta-For-Now Kelly ;o} |

The kids want to know are those legal there? Most countries have outlawed them because of their invasive/destructive way of taking over waterways. And the speed they breed. And their hardiness at avoiding capture. Not to mention their ability to travel over land without help. I have a friend that wants one sssssooooo bad. But they aren't legal here. Mez Ultimate Fish Guru Asian Hardfeather Enthusiast Posts: 3300 Votes: 162 Registered: 23-Feb-2001 | Kelly, where abouts in america are you? It'd be pretty stupid if all snakeheads were illegal, especially those that only reach six inches or so. They actually dont breed that easily, and there is only one species banned here, the northern snakehead, because that is the only one that would likely survive in our waterways. All other snakeheads are legal. |

Mez, "a 100m f2.8" means the actual lens was 100mm long, that's considered a longer zoom. "standard" was set at 55mm at one time back in the darkroom ages (yes, I made a funny ). The f2.8 explains how "fast" the lens is, not to be confused with shutter speed although they play a role. A lens that can do 2.8 means it can make a nice blurred background and shallow depth of field (only a small portion of the image will be in focus ba Nice images, and yes, once you use a DSLR you realize what's important in a camera Now....if only I can afford a housing for my camera ^_^ |

Kellyjhw Big Fish My bubble... Posts: 405 Kudos: 217 Votes: 471 Registered: 22-Nov-2008 | I'm in Michigan, specifically Detroit. Actually there was a "Prime Time" special on them about a year ago. They're not allowed in the U.S. period. They still get here though, usually by black market. There appears to be a huge Asia tradition for them, according to the report. (It is said to have healing/medicial qualities in Asia lore. But if the person is healed/dies [I can't remember which] before it's consumed you are supposed to let it go.) Hence, it's gotten in our waterways. Also black market dealers don't tell hobbiest/casual fish keeper how BIG the northern ones get, much less tell them the differences in the species. When they get too big and too aggressive.... again back to the waterways. As far as I know, we don't have them here, but it's only a matter of time.... We are "the land of a thousand lakes". (Our state motto) And Michigan is surrounded by the "5 Great Lakes" and they are run very deep. TTFN --->Ta-Ta-For-Now Kelly ;o} |

When I pulled away and turned to go, it bit me on my rump! The kids (human) got a huge giggle out of that! Note to everyone don't stand to close. My girls, to this day, ask me if we can go back to visit the goats. I'd rather visit horses. TTFN --->Ta-Ta-For-Now Kelly ;o} |

As far as I know you have to be 18 to get a long gun and 21 for hand guns in the U.S. with a background check and waiting period. Or are you speaking about Canada?... or the UK?
