Can someone tell me where I can order real fossilized wood? I know that there are many imitations on the market that aren't even usable in an aquarium.
All comments and suggestions are welcome.

Hi,
Many fish stores carry it. However, it is going to be expensive. Collecting it is carefully regulated, and it is used for jewelry. Many of the "colorful" rocks that can be put in an aquarium will "fade" over time as the bacterial colonies, along with algae, build up on their surfaces, and the rocks require frequent scrubbing.

Check the Internet for "Petrified Wood." It's generally sold by the pound, and the more colorful it is, the higher the price per pound.

Hi,
For an interesting sandstone, look up Fairy Sandstone. It's beautiful, and the "Glue" that holds the grains together is Silica Dioxide (SiO2) so it won't fall apart when submersed.

Hi,
I guess I missed something. Caulk used for what?

Hi Zach,
I figured the caulk was being used as a glue, but I don't see anything in the thread about what might be being glued together.

Sorry.... I misunderstood what you were saying about the silicone dioxide in the sandstone you mentioned before.
