Well i finally found the cord to connect my digital camera to my computer, so here is a picture of my twenty gallon planted community aquarium. So...what do you think? Any suggestions? I know that it is not the greatest, but i am really happy with it, but any improvements you think i could make?

Hooktor,

Looks good, you're right to be proud of it, all the plants look pretty healthy.

The first thing I'd do is replace the background. While that's one of the better backgrounds I've seen, printed backgrounds are just a distraction. A plain black background will really show off the plants and further highlight those nice bright greens.

Apart from that I'd just fill out the Bacopa and Ludwigia at the sides, nice thick groves. A few Anubias on or just in front of the wood pieces. Fill out the foregound with something simple like Dwarf Sag. It would be a very very nice tank.

Thanks so much for your nice words! It feels good to know that other people like my tank too! I took off the background, does it look better?

I agree with Bernard re painting the background black. It will show off all the plants and give the tank some depth (front-back). Those printed backgrounds have their uses but I have not found one yet.

Certainly add more tall clumping plants to the sides and possibly a few at the back as well.

Use more small plants in the foreground. A small anubias might look OK tied to that DW on the RH end

A few small 1-3ins flat river smooth stones just might add a little bit of interest if placed under and around the RH DW just a thought it migh soung interesting but look shocking when set up, it is a matter of try and look.

Definately looks better without the background. Much more natural looking. Black paint or black cardboard at the back would finish it off nicely.

Agree with keith, a few river rocks would work nicely. Much easier and effective to "build" an aquascape shape and depth with rocks and wood then it is with plants only. Just make sure the rocks look natural, avoid white or anything too round and smooth. Nice dark grey or something.

yeah without the background things look much better and clearer. i agree with adding some red colored plants, or darker green, because it looks like you have mostly bright green colored plants now. add some color to create a focus for the tank

Looks to be on the lower side as far as lighting goes, I do see some red in the back right corner near the CO2 ladder but it seems to lose it's impact with all the greens.

Have a look around for Alternathera reinekii or red temple plant....should do good in that tank . I'd still consider adding a background back on, simply to hide a bit of the tank equipment till the plants grow in more. It doesn't need to be a LFS background. With the CO2 hopfully your plants will be growing in quickly so a bit of dark blue wrapping paper would work quite nicely for the time being.

2.75wpg...you'll be fine with red temple .
One of my favorite plants, too bad mine died when I stopped the CO2 .

Babel is right, red temple is a wonderful plant. It may be a slow starter (mine took forever to root in the substrate and start really growing) but it adds fantastic color and it's fairly easy to keep.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

Nice tank and plants. IMHO it will look even better if their was some levels in the tank. Maybe take the diftwood or some rocks and make the gravel higher toward one side.
