Hiya,
Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for a tank background that will accentuate the colour of our fish. Ie: bring out the blues. I was thinking of a straight blue background, as I don't really like the photo types.
Any help is appreciated
Dan

I think one of the black or blue foil backgrounds would bring out the colors best. i would pick black, welcome to fishprofiles by the way.

Welcome to FP! I would go along with CLF, as the blue will be not so blue with a blue background. Black will bring out the color and create a peaceful and relaxed, yet classy look!

Several coats of a good quality flat water based black is far superior (use a paint roller) it will show up 99% of fish possibly with the exception of any black coloured fish.

For the black backing you can use paint, vynil, even a black plastic garbage bag.

Black also creates the illusion of depth (front to back)

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Thanks all for your responses. Using a peice of 1/4" luan plywood I have tried a bluish paint I had left over from my son's room, looks pretty good. I may try black tommorrow and see how that looks.
