I have a decoration question i have a old fountain rock which was the rock that water came out of and flowed down it If i took some pics of maybe you all could tell me what you think if i could put it in the 20g or not and maybe some plant around it, it also has a little hole in back of it, i could make it bigger for a good hiding place for the fish. not sure. Heres a pic of it http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/coyoteoverdose/album?.dir=/811f

Hi,
From what I can make out from the picture, I would say yes,
you could use it in your tank. Before you do that however,
you should prepare it by scrubbing it with a clean, unused,
brush under running water. Then take a knife and scrape the
surface so you have a fresh exposed surface. then dribble
a couple of drops of vinegar on the scratched surface.
If the vinegar just sits there, and I suspect it will, then
the rock is "safe" to put in the tank. By safe, I mean
that it won't affect the water chemistries (pH, GH, KH).
