The opening to it is only a half inch above the gravel and there is no airstone close to it. So how does it get air inside it?!! Its the pagoda. Any Ideas? mts.gif" border="0"> I vote do you? Most of the time one would not notice them. In this instance you are trapping the gasses under the ornament. This should be a hint that you need to organize the aquascape of the tank so that you have planted and non-planted areas and that you should be vacuuming the gravel in each of the non-planted sections, once section at a time, with each weekly water change. I would hope that this dosent get released into the tank regularly, and i would bury the pagoda or put it in with the plants, next to it, so that there is more roots to break down the waste quicker, and effectively preventing it from building up. ><> ~=!Vote Today!=~ <>< -----> View My Dragons <----- |

Anaerobic pockets tend to only form in a deep sand substrate. As Frank said, though, it's still a good idea for things to be rearranged to prevent this from happening. |

Going slow will be the key here! Dan 55G -5x Bosemani, 3x Emerald Cory,3x Red Rainbow, 3x Turquoise Rainbow. 20G-Empty. 10G -4x Danio 3x Cory Fry 1 Gold Mystery Snail. 10G- 1x CAE, 2x Tetra 1x ADF |
