greenmonkey51 Fish Master Posts: 1571 Kudos: 1692 Votes: 5 Registered: 28-Jan-2004 | I posted before about my 75g but I haven't done a thing. I'm going to use a different peice of driftwood. Which causes a problem. Heres the peice of wood. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/greenmonkey51/detail?.dir=1ba0&.dnm=67b7.jpg&.src=ph Its about 32" long and 4" wide. Even though it take up so much room its very intricite and every fish loves it. I put it about 3" away from the left glass. I need some help on where to put a amazon sword. |

Your placement to the left will work well for you. Since it is 4 inches wide I would place it 4 inches from the back wall of the aquarium to provide planting room. If your amazon sword is echinodorus bleheri, it will grow up to 50 cm tall and 40 cm wide (20" by 16". I would place it in the back about 1/3 from the left end of the tank. This sword is very easy to maintain. Just about any light or temperature. If you are not sure of the sword type as "Amazon Sword" is a generic term that people apply to many subspecies, then check the plant under echinodorus at http://www.tropica.com/default.asp. I have marked my first and second choice 1st on the left. Both plant locations are in an area which is considered the focal point. The center of the DW just below my first choice is also close to a focal point. I would also consider having a heater at each end. To make things a lot easer draw it out full size.(cut a piece of cardboard for the DW) and just move it around but keep in mind the focal proportions. You can PM me for more info and help if you require it. Keith keithgh attached this image: Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do.
