Does sand have to be rinsed/cleaned before going in the tank like gravel? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

Any of the fine particles that dont get rinsed off can and will jam your filter up ...been there done that have the busted impellers to prove it. As for mixing the sand, I dont see any reason why not to...if one is heavier than the other it's likely to settle out but with regular mixing with MTS or manually you should be fine . ^_^ Current [link=Contest Rules]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Aquascaping/44382.html?200412022138" style="COLOR: #EB4288[/link] |

It was not a fun time at all After the water cleared I really like the look though. Good luck with the sand! Jen |

If possible seive it with a sand seive first this will remove most of the very fine particals. Then wash and rewash it several times, until all the dirt is removed. Purportedly pH neutral, plant friendly and bio-active. I have used it in three of my tanks and I love it! By the way... no rinsing is necessary for the product! __________ "To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research." researched from Steven Wright |
