Hello! I think I'm pretty set on the Clown Loaches (a trio), and have done the research, and know I will have to upgrade after a few years. But I have also seen a few other bottom feeders that struck my intrest:

1x Lace Catfish or
6x Peppered Corys or
1x Pictus Cat or
3x Rainbow Sharks or Red Tail Sharks.

The stock list I am looking at is this:

3x or 4x Koi or Black Veil Tail Angelfish
4x Rams or a school of peaceful tetras/barbs
and I am considering an African Butterfly Fish

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Given the choices you gave, I would suggest the peppered cories. I have a 46 too, and for bottom feeders I have 2 upside down cats (that I never see) 2 spotted cories and 2 peppered. Whenever I have to buy more, I will definately get the peppered. They are more active and visible than the others. I really like them and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a bottom feeder.
Good Luck and HTH!!!

I agree the Cories would be your best choice. Each of the other choice could have problems either size or compatability.

A school of 6 Corydoras are the best choise, but make sure that you don't overstock the tank with your fish choises.

Pandas are great little cories! They make a great addition to any tank, they seem to be compatible with a large range of fish. And because of their size you can keep more of them than their larger cousins! This is always a bonus for those of us who like to have large numbers of fish. In larger schools they are more visible as well.
