I would not leave it in any longer than one hr. You might have to try it several times. My ottos will not eat any added foods at all. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. As far as i can tell, only one of my otoes eats it. Of course i only have two though. I want to get more when i come back from vacation though. You can leave the cuccumber in there for as long as 24 hrs. in my opinion. I read that some otoes like their veggies aged in the water. The water wont cloud up, the filter wont clog, the nitrates will be fine. Just dont leave it in their for longer than a day, that when it gets messy. |

In all 3 tanks, otos can be seen feasting on it. Some of the other fish like it too. The first time, they were a little slow to catch on, but now they know, they love it. Think I'll try fresh spinach too & see how they like that. I worry I don't have enough algae. Cheers TW |
