My tank is teaming with activity, mostly from my beloved bottom dwellers For me, it's my corys, sultan pleco and clown loach. I was just wondering what would be the most popular BD?

Cue LOTS of groans from the regulars when I pop up here and announce my undying affection for Panda Corys.

Mine are feeding as I type this ... I popped in the food about 25 minutes ago, including some nice tablet food that was supposed to be for the Otocinclus but which is currently being given the 'once over' by the Pandas as well. As a matter of fact, the Pandas are playing 'push hockey' with the tablet pieces, and the poor Otocinclus are having their work cut out getting a share even though I broke the tablets into lots of small bits and spread them around to give the Otocinclus a chance.

I have a sneaking feeling I'm going to have to change my strategem with respect to those algae tables ...

I'd also have to confess to a soft spot for Otocinclus. These fishes are tireless little workers, tracking down every last available algal morsel and munching away on it. They certainly deserve far better treatment than they used to receive at some wholesalers, where they spent their lives crowded in wholly unsuitable quarters slowly starving to death before being shipped out, but fortunately some people here in the UK at least have got the message and have learned that keeping them in aquaria with access to algae to dine upon not only results in happier fishes, but no write-offs - they get to SELL the fishes instead.

Otocinclus respnd beautifully to a little pampering ... and become long lived in addition when well cared for. Proof fo the pudding is my Methuselah specimen, one of the 4 with which I stocked the Panda Fun Palace when it first went 'live' in December 1994. Those fishes lasted 6 years or more, and the 'Methuselah' specimen lived over nine years, finally heading to the great aquarium in the sky in March 2003. Given that the little guy was probably 6 months old or so when I first bought him, chances are a 10 year life span isn't beyond the reach of these fishes.

Hard to say. I've really grown attached to my pterosturisoma microps, L-316, and the psuedohemion apithantos. I'd say that lot makes it in my book.

Well, its hard to say what the most popular is. Different people like different bottom fish. My Panda cories are very cute, but I think my Albino cories are my fav bottom dweller. They are always out digging around in the gravel. They sleep in the moss (well not anymore since the moss is gone). They are very sociable little guys. My Pandas are really shy, but a close second in my fav list. Third would be my Yoyo loaches. They are crazy!

I like cories and loaches.

While I love my yoyo loaches I also like snails and shrimp in my tanks as much as they enjoy eating them. For that reason I prefer my clown plecos. I lost count of how many are now in the 55g. I think they might have spawned but with all the driftwood caves and plants I will probably never know unless I take the tank down sometime. They scoot away at rather surprising speeds when I flip up their favorite piece of driftwood and try to count them. There's always a pleco on some bit of driftwood at any time of the day or night and usually I can count 3-4 out at once. They go nuts for butternut squash. I've had absolutely no luck keeping cories. They always slowly disapear without a trace over several months.

I would say my Clown Loaches they are always extremly active and very colourful. Also never a problem as far as feeding is concerned.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
