Angel fish fins | |
Kellyjhw Big Fish My bubble... Posts: 405 Kudos: 217 Votes: 471 Registered: 22-Nov-2008 | Hi, I have 6 Angels of various sizes. Last weekend, I noticed one of the larger ones had a split tail fin. By the time I had the time to get to the fish store to get some melafix, the fin was completely healed. Is this normal for angels? TTFN --->Ta-Ta-For-Now Kelly ;o} |

I have heard of fish having fins and tails damaged by sharp ob That seams a very quick recovery unless it took you a long time to get the medication. Apparently, when the lights go out there is a free for all with the angel community. I noticed this afternoon when it got off work, the largest has nips out of its tail fin and the tip of its top fin has tears. That made me do a count and the smallest was missing. Appearently, it tried to hide behind the cave, and died. He was so pretty. One fin was black and the other white. It had a mostly black body with calico patches. Aggghhh! I haven't been able to catch them fighting, but my oldest saw a little of it out the corner of her eye last night. When she turned to watch, they stopped and watched her. (Feed me, feed me Symore) They're always begging. I'll have to wait them out and see if I can identify the aggressor/agitator and then seperate them. Hopefully, I won't lose anyone else. It could be an aggressive breeding behaviour or a territorial issue. I didn't think anything was big enough to mate yet. (Although the 2 male barbs are showing pretty well and dancing about. None of the girlies are showing interest.) TTFN --->Ta-Ta-For-Now Kelly ;o} |

They where still floating in the bag when I posted the list. And I was a tad bit tired. It's been a horrible week +. TTFN --->Ta-Ta-For-Now Kelly ;o} |
