Too bad, it was a nice trick. You gonna plant all 4 tanks tomorrow? Wow, hope you back will hold up for that task. Yeah, it sounds fantasic, 4 tanks, 4 themes, 4 different plant setups. You have all the tools to become the superstar of planted tank logs . Can't wait to see more details, Ingo |

dan76 Big Fish Always Reading Posts Posts: 343 Registered: 08-Jul-2003 | ingo , only 4 tanks on the stand, the top fr all the tanks will be planted to some degree( i have heaps of plants arriving toomorrow ) so this log will probably be moved to the planted forum eventually. as to the matt filter the two i had running were working great until the foam started to disintergrate on me. i still dont know what caused it but someone suggested that my bn and other plecos had been eating it. that could be the cause because in the rhs of the pic you can see the part of the matt that was out of the water at the top. cheers dan dan76 attached this image: |

LITTLE_FISH ***** Little Fish ***** Master of Something Posts: 7303 Kudos: 1997 Votes: 670 Registered: 20-May-2005 | dan76, It looks very nice so far. There must be some enormous pressure on each of the legs. Now you have 4 tanks on it, will there be 6 when it is all done (2 way on top)? How many gallons is a 4 foot tank, 55? That would be 220 gallons on 4 tanks, and all can look different, very nice . I missed the entry where your “Mattenfilter” failed. What happened? Ingo |

dan76 Big Fish Always Reading Posts Posts: 343 Registered: 08-Jul-2003 | its in the carport , its about a 6in concrete slab so no worries there and as the slab isnt completely level i got the legs be made so they can be adjusted dan76 attached this image: |

reun Big Fish Posts: 332 Kudos: 216 Registered: 04-Nov-2005 | wow...one of my other hobbies besides fish is cars, and through cars i got into welding...when i see a stand like that it makes me wish i had a "Tank room" and i would fab myself something to house multiple tanks...i can only imagine at this point even being able to have my ten gallon up and running so i can use it as a hospital/ quaranteen tank,LOL. it looks really good. as a previous poster mentioned, the point weight will be really extreme, especially with those poited legs. with the bracing your friend did, from what i can see, it wont be the stand that gives, more like the concrete might crack around its legs if its a thin slab. if its in a ba |

dan76 Big Fish Always Reading Posts Posts: 343 Registered: 08-Jul-2003 | here is a pic, stand is painted , and i have 2 tanks on the stand as a test to see how it goes , as usual i did everthing in a bit of a rush so my tank room looks like a bomb hit it . with the failure of the foam for the mat filters i decided to use an aquaclear 500 for each tank. let me know if you want pics of different things cheers dan dan76 attached this image: |

The point load of that will be killer with all those tanks and the weight Can't wait to see it with some tanks!! |
