I received my canon 350D/rebel xt today. I got some of the buttons and whatnot figured out. My first SLR, so be kind . I already have my eye on some lenses other than the kit lens I got.

Pics:

Reef at night:

Day shot of the clown:

Cherry shrimp:

I couldn't get more than 3-4ft from my computer because my CF card hasn't arrived yet. So all the pics I took are kind of limited, I couldn't get in front of the tanks, just through the sides. I really wanted to start taking pictures though.

Thanks to Babel for some help figuring things out!

This site will certainly help you with the camera. I only use the Auto settings when I take the photos. With the lenses you might consider buying only the lenses for that camera and you should have no problem at all.
Here is the shrimp photo-shoped a little bit this also helps.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

The cat shots brought a giggle. I can just imagine how cute and crazy he is. Great shots.

I've gotten the chance to take a few more. Still working with the kit lens, not the best for macros and birds, but they came out ok.

Took the camera to work today.

This is the tank I take care of:

One of some rainbows, and one of a cherry barb in the above tank:

oops, forgot to check in here. Thanks for all the replies .

I'm tearing everything down soon and will start back up after I get moved. So I may get a couple full tank shots before I go. The 5.5 hasn't changed a bit, but things have gotten significantly better in the reef tank. I'm seeing a lot better color and growth from corals and much less algae than what was going on before. Kinda sad to tear it down after things are just starting to look better, but that's life.
