I am sending some excess corkscrew val to a friend. I plan to send it express post which means it will get to its destination 1-2 days. How do I pack the plants safely so they get there without being crushed?

Thanks for any advise.

I would wrap it up in wet news paper then stick it in a plastic bag of some sort. After that you could bubble wrap them then into the box.

I usually receive mail in a priority mail box, wrapped in wet newspaper and put in a plastic bag, and that's usually padded with more newspaper. I've also received plants in regular fish bags that have been inflated so that the plants don't get crushed and those bags are stuck in a box and shipped as is. I personally think that the newspaper method is better, but most common aquarium plants are hardy enough that 2-3 days through the mail isn't a problem either way.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

I would wrap them in damp (to stop the roots from drying out) newspaper then put that into a plastic bag and they shoud arrive perfectly safe.

Also write on the parcel live plants and leave if not home. This could easly make a big difference in even a days delivery.
