I'm not sure what you are calling a syphon valve, but I suspect it is a "check valve." These valves are designed to prevent water from flowing from the tank down into the pump when the power is turned off (goes out.) I think you may have the valve installed backwards. Disconnect the hoses and simply turn the valve around and things should work. Many of the check valves have an arrow etched on their sides showing the direction of flow. The other option could simply be that the pump is not strong enough to power the "bubble wand." Check the packaging that the wand came in and see what the suggested pump size is. She gave the pump a few hits and it started working. Sounds like it was an internal pump problem that required a old fashion kick start. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. If that fails I resort to using the heel of my shoe. If that fails it will be the wheelie bin for the item... if I can lift it. ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |
