I think mine's like 4 at the most, but be sure to leave room for stuff like access to it. Mine was originally by the wall on a cabinet, but right under a wall sconce and I couldn't access the filter at all, had to move it. |

My AC 50 is snug to the wall and the tank is 3 3/4" thereabouts from the wall. So 4" will be plenty of space to take the filter out for cleaning and maintenance.
