I'm thinking about making my own aquarium by buying the Glass and making the framework myself. what are the main aspects about framework making and glass thinkness? Glass will bow due to water pressure, if it bows too much, the glass will burst, not break. Take a close look at the construction of retail aquariums such as All-Glass or Marineland. - Glass thickness increases with size, - Sharp edges are concealed by plastic strips, - Plastic edging for both the top and bottom of the aquarium are reinforced to minimize bowing.
