Which brand has the best features and feeds the best, LOL. also one that can be easly refilled, its a 30gallon with tonz of guppies and a few clown loaches, and a pleco, hes fairly small right now. |

Your question has been covered before on this site and here is the link to it: http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/threads/27485.1.htm?9# Good luck! He and his wife, and Susan and I, play cards frequently and I constantly tease him. I tell him that he tried to get into the Navy but flunked "Swimming 101" and had to settle for the Shallow Water Boys, instead of the "real navy", the Blue Water Navy. Enjoy yourself and have a great career. Frank -->>> The Confidence of Amateurs, is the Envy of Professionals <<<-- |

The tanks were fed by an eheim automatic feeder. I was a bit nervious, as I'd heard bad things about auto feeds, so I set them up on trial for a week or so, while I was there to monitor. The eheim has a built-in fan, which is claimed to prevent moisture causing the food to clog up, which was one thing others told me could go wrong. The fan seemed to work and all went well. It has only one chamber - so fish will eat the same food for the whole time. It is a large chamber and holds a lot of food. It is easy to refill, if your parents need to do so. To adjust the amount of food dropped in the tank, you adjust the opening size (it slides easily). You can programme up to 4 feeds a day. I usually only feed my fish once a day, as much as they can eat in say 3-4 minutes. So what I did was:- * adjust feed opening to drop in just enough food at one time that my fish would eat in 1 minute. * after a 1 min break, programme another dump * repeat until a total of 4 dumps * 24 hours later, this sequence will be repeated. I thought this worked better than a single daily dump, and it matched more closely my usual manual feeding of sprinkling a little, waiting for them to eat & then sprinkling more until 4 minutes were up. I hope this helps you some. Boot Camp - that sounds tough. Cheers TW |
