hey guys,i got my vacume/pump today, its so cool, its battery operated,it takes 2 c sized batteries, and it has lots of diferent functions,it can be a water pump,a vacume, also it can vacume while pumping the clean water back into the tank,if you dont want to take any water out the tank, but its needs a vacume its easy.also it can vacume and pump out the water too,it has a little bag on the side thats like fish net material, this is whats catching the waste and dirt, its easy to use and clean, the bag comes off with aswell for cleaning,i bought from ebay, and the best part is the first 1 got lost in the mail,so the guys refunded some of my cash, which in return only costed me 10buks,its made by migoto, ive never herd ofem, but for 10buks im wrapped,do you guys have one of these or have used 1 b4,and what do yous think of em...

Hi,
I tried one similar to that nearly 2 decades ago. It was
a mess. The mesh of the bag is so porous that it
allowed the fine dirt particles to flow through the
bag and back into the tank creating a brown,
cloudy, mess.

Maybe this brand works better and has a finer mesh.

I've never heard of such a thing, but it sounds pretty neat. They could probably use that in Australia where there is a water shortage.

Also, the water pump part would come in handy in the summer if the power went out & the tank needed oxygenating.

It sounds like they have improved them since Frank use to have one.

Thanks for telling us that such a thing exists. We might keep it in mind for the future.

also frank i think they have been fine tuned since you last used one,i say this becuase as soon as i got it,i gave it a whirl, and no joke it worked great, and the little bag on the side, the pores are finer that a ladies stocking, and you should see the fine particles that are caught in the bag,i got it as more of a water pump than a cleaner, but it still works well, plus being battery powered and not relying on gravity, its so much faster too...but all up for 10buks im happy...anyone else had any good/bad experence with one?

Hi HOKESE

As I'm in Aus, I wouldn't mind checking out what the item looks like in our ebay. Would you mind sending me a PM with the ebay item number or the sellers on-line name.

I have tried one of these battery vacuums (Marina brand) last year. It was absolute rubbish and didn't have enough power to suck up anything.

Sounds like yours works fine. I was looking at the eheim versions, but they are around $180 - $200 and I can't find anyone who has used them to give me feedback (asked here a couple of times).

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
